Sue and Grahame, the licensees of the Jacobs, re opened the pub on 17th August, 2012 after it had been closed for a period of time, there plan was to restore its good fortunes enjoyed some 12 years previously by implementing their belief of "Quality Without Compromise"
A five-year plan was hatched and implemented, the first part to redecorate and furnish the pub and get it open and running. A beer garden was envisaged and became a reality in spring of 2014, another first for the pub, the final phase was to have a major refit after five years, due to the success and popularity of the pub the refit had to be brought forward and the new look Jacobs Well opened its doors on the 30th Oct 2015 after a closure for refit of 3 weeks.
The sympathetic refurbishment of the pub was carried out bringing a warmth and feel to the Jacobs Well, including the opening up of the fire place to allow for a large Swans Nest real open fire, staff carefully chosen for their friendliness and welcoming nature, Real Ales and Wines sought to compliment the Menu of Traditional home cooked food, local suppliers used for the ingredients......all together creating a dining and drinking experience of exceptional quality.
All the above culminated in the pub winning several awards and accolades over the time the Jakes has been open
